‘SAMUEL BOURIAH’, aka DJ SAMMY, was born in MALLORCA, SPAIN, on October 19 1969.
So he was born in that exact year we now consider to be the peak-moment of flower-power.
But, though he developed a love for music, no flower-power for SAMUEL.
He became one of the leading DJ’S in ‘DANCE MUSIC’.
In the mean time he had five top 10 hits.
He is best known for his cover of ‘Heaven’ (originally by ‘BRYAN ADAMS’) called the ‘Heaven Candlelight Mix’), and a cover of ‘The Boys of Summer’ (originally by ‘DON HENLEY’).
In 1984, DJ SAMMY started his career in the hot ‘DANCE CLUBS’ of MALLORCA, such as ALEXANDRA’S (now ‘BOOMERANG’S’), BANANA’S and ZORBA’S;
In these days, he also got a full training as a sound technician at the MALLORCA MUSIC COLLEGE.
In 1991 he met singer MARIE JOSE, with whom he performed for a long time at ZORBA’S CLUB in PALMA.
With MARIE JOSE he released his first single ‘LIFE IS JUST A GAME’ in 1995.
This single was a top 10 hit in the Spanish record chart.
Other singles like ‘YOU’RE MY ANGEL’ and ‘PRINCE OF LOVE’ also became very popular in SPAIN and GERMANY.
In June 1998 DJ SAMMY released his first album, ‘LIFE IS JUST A GAME’, which got more than positive reviews all over EUROPE
Recently DJ SAMMY has founded his own ‘DANCE MUSIC’ label, called ‘SUPER M RECORDS’.
